What are the benefits of practicing yoga?
Yoga exercises are suitable for everyone, and their primary goal is to maintain body mobility until old age, rather than to build muscle or deepen stretching. At the moment, we're noticing a mobility issue caused by a combination of the agonist (the muscle that provides the movement's main force) being weak and the antagonist (the agonist in the opposite muscle) being overly tense. His way of alerting us and requesting our attention is to tense up his body.
How does the human body function? Muscles are always in pairs. We have an agonist, or muscle, that contracts while stretching and relaxing at the same time. The triceps are released or the biceps contract and the elbow bends. Understanding how our muscles work makes it easier for us to support the body's functions and perform yoga exercises more effectively.
What are the benefits of yoga?
Constant sitting appears to be a minor issue. However, when you delve deeper into the topic, you'll discover that it's even worse than the viral diseases themselves. When a person sits, he or she expends far less energy than when standing or moving. Sitting for long periods slows the metabolism, affecting the body's ability to regulate blood sugar, and blood pressure, and break down body fat. Avoiding movement stiffens the body, and living for a long time results in various pain sensations.
Sitting for long periods relaxes the majority of the body's muscles, including those that support the heart and spine, causing group changes. Because the heart pumps blood throughout the body, too much relaxation can result in less oxygen reaching the brain, impairing one's ability to think clearly. It can also harm toxin elimination, digestion, and sleeping patterns.
Yoga has been shown in studies to improve mobility and reduce pain.
Furthermore, each position is a mental exercise that brings a person back to the present moment. Yoga is therapeutic simply because it connects the body and the mind; otherwise, the body cannot function if the mind is preoccupied. To deal with all aspects of pain and discomfort, train at home and use yoga tools. Pain serves as a reminder of the importance of finding a healthy balance. Yoga helps the body to strengthen, straighten, and relax.
Of course, there are numerous reasons to practice yoga that cannot be prioritized, but the following are the most important:
- improving body care;
- development of body perception;
- increasing muscle strength;
- improving joint mobility;
- strengthening the cardiovascular system;
- stress reduction;
- digestive support;
- pain relief;
- strengthening immunity.
Amateur reminder
When you walk into the gym with your shoes on, leave your expectations at the door. Only then will you be able to fully concentrate on being present in the moment. While remaining in the asanas (yoga positions), clear your mind. Make sure you have the same number of repetitions on both sides by using deep ujjayi breathing.
It is critical to ensure that the body is at ease and that there is no discomfort. Comparing yourself to a teacher or a neighbor is pointless because everyone's body and abilities are different.
Consciously stretching your spine is one of the most important parts of your training. During the day, we do far too little. Take note of how you move between the asanas and what is preventing you from going a step further in your practice. Everything that happens on a yoga mat and vice versa is a reflection of everyday life.
Yoga's goal is to bring the body and mind into harmony. Feel free to try new things, and you'll see positive results soon enough. MaiWistik can help you get started with yoga or improve your current practice.
