Does an insect bite interfere with enjoying the summer?
An insect bite can happen out of nowhere. During the barbecue season, many insects can bite or sting us, including bees, ants, fleas, mosquitoes, and wasps. Most of them, on the other hand, don't bother us if we don't bother them, so knowing what to do in the event of an incident is always beneficial.
Insect bite and consequences
A bug bite can be painful at the time, but this is not always the case. An allergic reaction is frequently triggered by the poison, which enters the skin through the insect's mouth or sting. Swelling, sores, or pain indicate a severe bite that requires special attention.
Although the majority of bites and stings cause only minor discomfort, some people may develop severe allergies. Furthermore, many people are unable to stop scratching, and an insect bite can scratch their blood. As a result, bacteria can gain access to the area and cause rotting.
When bites are consciously relieved, they usually disappear within a few hours or days.
Insect bite and how to behave
Insects can be repelled by using essential oils with candles during summer gatherings, but essential oils are often scarce.
Make your mosquito repellent by following these steps:
- bottle for spraying
- water
- a blend of essential oils
Fill a spray bottle halfway with water and a few drops of appropriate essential oil. Do not use too much essential oil, as it can irritate the skin and mucous membranes. Lemongrass, lavender, and mint are effective mosquito repellents. Shake it well to activate the natural mosquito repellent.
In the absence of essential oil, you can make a strong infusion from a plant that contains it. Take, for example, yarrow, which can be found almost anywhere.
It can happen that there are many bites all over the body. Best remedy is the oatmeal bath. Sprinkle 1 cup of oatmeal or ground oats in a bath filled with warm water. Soak in an oat bath for 20 minutes, occasionally rub the oatmeal on the irritated areas.
An easier way is to grab our herbal Cupik SOS oil, which is a natural relief for insect bites. Helps to soothe and reduce irritation, redness and swelling associated with insect bites.
Apply the oil to the skin on an insect bite, rub in until completely absorbed. Suitable for the body as well as the face and feet and can be used several times a day as needed.
