Gentle osteopathic therapy to calm the nervous system, release accumulated tension in the body, and support deep relaxation.

Craniosacral therapy is for you if you feel that your body is constantly tense, your sleep is not restorative enough, or your thoughts find it hard to settle down. Through very light and attentive touch, the therapy supports the body's natural ability to slow down, adapt, and recover.

The session takes place at a calm pace, with you lying on a massage table fully clothed. No forceful manipulations or painful techniques are used.

I am an osteopathy student entering my second year of a three-year osteopathic program, which is why I can currently offer you craniosacral therapy at a lower price than usual.

What effects can craniosacral therapy offer?

The effects of the therapy are often noticeable from the very first sessions. Clients most frequently describe a profound sense of peace, lightness in the body, and the feeling that their nervous system has finally been able to rest.

Craniosacral therapy helps support:

  • deep relaxation and calming of the nervous system;
  • reduction of stress and anxiety;
  • improvement in sleep quality;
  • alleviation of tensions associated with headaches and migraines;
  • reduction of neck, shoulder, and back tensions;
  • relaxation of the jaw and facial area;
  • improved concentration and mental clarity;
  • restoration of emotional balance;
  • freer breathing and an overall lighter sense of well-being.

Each body responds to therapy at its own pace. Some people feel a change immediately after the first session, while others notice the effects gradually over the following days.

When to come for craniosacral therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is often used as a supportive therapy for:

  • chronic fatigue and burnout;
  • long-term stress and overload;
  • recovery from trauma and tension states;
  • calming a sensitive or easily overwhelmed nervous system;
  • supporting hormonal balance;
  • sleep problems;
  • jaw, neck, and occipital tensions;
  • tensions associated with headaches and migraines;
  • emotionally intense periods of life;
  • after prolonged mental or physical exertion.

You can also come for therapy if you don't have a specific complaint but feel you need deeper rest and an opportunity for your body to truly relax.

How does a session proceed?

At the beginning of the session, we will briefly discuss your well-being, any tensions, and your expectations. Afterwards, you will lie fully clothed on the massage table.

The therapist uses a very light touch and may work according to the body's needs on areas such as:

  • the head and occipital region;
  • the face and jaw;
  • the neck and shoulder girdle;
  • the diaphragm and back;
  • the pelvis and sacrum;
  • the legs.

Although the name of the therapy refers to the cranium and sacrum, the body is treated as a whole. The origin of tension may not be in the area where the person feels it most strongly.

During the session, you might experience warmth, a feeling of heaviness, slight pulsing, deeper breathing, or drowsiness. Many people reach a state between wakefulness and sleep.

The effect of craniosacral therapy on the face

The appearance of the face is affected not only by the skin and facial muscles but also by the jaw, neck, occiput, posture, breathing, and the state of the nervous system.

Long-term stress and protective tension can make the facial expression appear heavier and manifest as, for example:

  • a clenched jaw;
  • tension around the mouth;
  • tiredness around the eyes;
  • tension between the eyebrows;
  • overtension in the forehead;
  • asymmetrical facial movement;
  • stiffness in the neck and jawline.

Craniosacral therapy is not a classic beauty treatment, but releasing deeper tensions can support the natural openness and freshness of the face.

After the session, the face may appear:

  • more rested and softer;
  • more open around the eyes;
  • more relaxed in the jaw;
  • more symmetrical and mobile;
  • calmer and fresher overall.

The therapy works well as a complement to face yoga and buccal facial massage, because before consciously activating muscles, it's important to release the deeper tensions that restrict them.

How many sessions are recommended?

A single session is suitable for deep relaxation and supporting the body's recovery.

For long-term stress, sleep problems, recurrent headaches, or chronic tensions, it may be beneficial to undergo several sessions. We will agree on a suitable frequency based on your well-being and your body's reactions.

There may be a shorter interval between the first few sessions. Thereafter, therapy can be sought as needed or as regular maintenance.

What to consider after the session?

After therapy, it is advisable to take it easy if possible and allow the body time to adapt to the changes that have occurred.

It is recommended to:

  • drink enough water;
  • avoid very intense exercise on the same day;
  • allow yourself more rest;
  • monitor your breathing, sleep, and overall well-being;
  • not to fill your day immediately after the session with excessive commitments.

The effects may continue in the days following the therapy.

For whom might the therapy not be suitable?

In cases of acute head trauma, recent brain trauma, possible intracranial hemorrhage, severe unexplained headaches, or acute neurological symptoms, it is essential to consult a doctor first.

Craniosacral therapy is a supportive therapy and does not replace necessary medical diagnosis or treatment.
